Articles > Say NO to software patents in Europe
8 April 2004
Patents on software are a threat to all software developers and users.
The EU Commission and Council of Ministers are covertly pushing for unlimited patentability of software, heavily lobbied by multinationals and patent lawyers, ignoring the democratic decision of the European Parliament (24 September 2003), which has the support of more than 300,000 citizens, 2,000,000 SMEs, dozens of economists and scientists.
The Foundation for a Free Information Infrastructure (FFII) is organising a demonstration online and in the streets of Brussels on 14 April 2004.
